Delise is a psychotherapist in private practice in Fredericksburg, Virginia. A specialist in the treatment of trauma, she has been using EMDR as an intervention since 2002.  About 10 years ago she began to explore using objects instead of words to help clients work through issues that felt “stuck” or “overwhelming.” She created Object Mapping as a technique to enhance EMDR treatment, and to help individuals solve problems and feel more integrated.  

She founded Riverside Counseling and served as Clinical Director for over 15 years, selling the Virginia-based mental health facility in 2016. Delise has also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives and as an administrator at Harvard University. She earned a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Sarasota, and before that a master of liberal arts degree from Harvard. An award-winning playwright, for ten years she wrote a monthly newspaper column called “Mindset,” which focused on mental health issues and helping readers live life to the fullest.
