Object Mapping is an innovative, new technique. It can help individuals solve problems, see challenges in a new light, and unlock their full potential. It is especially relevant to EMDR trained clinicians. It is also consistent with the principles of interpersonal neurobiology and the work of Daniel Siegel, MD.
In a session, a client may select a variety of objects to express complex feelings, or individuals associated with them. They map out, or lay out, these objects to represent what they see as the challenge or problem. A client then rearranges the objects in a manner that presents a solution. This allows clients to access the more creative parts of their brain. Object Mapping has proven highly effective with clients during its development over the past 10 years.
